That reputation was due in part to the location of the meeting, the format, the content, its multidisciplinary faculty, and the support of its industry partners. Unfortunately, increased adoption of virtual events during and after the 2019 pandemic, ongoing economic concerns including inflation and budget cuts, lingering health concerns related to travel, and a shift in company priorities towards cost-saving measures have resulted in challenges for attendance at in-person conferences.
